PATSY RUTH HAUERWAS MILLER was born Oct. 30, 1931 at
Baylor Hospital in Dallas, TX, and died at age 66 after
a courageous nine-month battle with pancreatic cancer at
Baylor Hospital on Oct. 18, 1998. Burial was in Grove
Hill Memorial Cemetery.
Pat graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1949 and
attended North Texas State College in Denton, TX until
she married Wayne Miller in Wichita Falls, TX, Nov. 30,
1952. She was employed by Southwestern Life Insurance Co.
for two years as a stenographer/secretary and was also
employed by the Civil Service in Wichita Falls for two
years. Pat moved to Dallas in December of 1954 and worked
for companies until she went to work for AT&T where she
was President of the Blood Club and was Secretary of The
Speaker's Bureau. She retired after 20 years of service
with AT&T. She attended Dallas Baptist College & graduated
Cum Laude in 1970 with a BBA in Business Management where
she received The Everett's Award.
At the time of her death, Pat was survived by her husband
of forty-six years, Wayne Miller of Mesquite, Texas;
daughters Mitzi Miller Spitzer and her husband Dave of
Carrollton, TX, Lisa Miller Petty and her husband Barry
of Midland, TX; and son Monty Miller and his wife Janice
of Dallas, TX. Pat was also survived by 4 grandchildren:
Kelli, Joey, David and Cody. Pat's hobbies included pottery,
photography, Indian culture and an appreciation of South-
western Art.
