WILLARD "MIKE" NORTHRUP, born Aug. 18, 1914 in Waterloo,
IA, joined his maker July 13, 1997. Mike retired as Vice
President and Works Manager of Western Electric (Lucent
Technologies) in 1979. He served as a volunteer in the
emergency room of Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas for 18
years. Respected member and elder of Preston Hollow
Presbyterian Church. Mike was a member of the Kiwanis
Club, The Chamber of Commerce, and served on the Board
of Directors at United Way, The Way Back House, and the
YMCA. Mike was also awarded the Silver Beaver Award for
his outstanding service to the Boy Scouts. Most importantly,
Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor,
friend, and fishin' buddy to all that knew him.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his beloved
wife Dorothy of 59 years, daughter Patricia and Judith,
son Michael, 8 grand-children, and 5 great-great-children.
He will surely be missed by all the lives he touched.
