VELMA JANE STARRETT passed away Oct 6, 2003 at her residence
after a short battle with cancer. She was born on Oct. 16,
1932 in Yantis, Texas to Andrew and Velma Caroline Bussell.
Velma married Frank Starrett in Dallas in July of 1947. He
survives. Velma was a material operator for 13 years at
Western Electric, and a clerk for Winn Dixie for 14 years.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Yantis.
At the time of her death, she was survived two sons, Kenneth
Starrett of Fort Davis, Texas and Paul Starrett of Yantis,
three sisters, Jean Allman of Yantis, Lurene Winston of Heath,
and Joy Hrobak of Austin, three brothers, J. L. Bussell of
Lovington, NM, Don Bussell and Andrew Bussell of Yantis,
numerous grandchildren, great and one great-great. She
was preceded in death by her parents & one sister, Patricia
Johnson.
