Roy Scott Roy Scott & Sherry ROY RAYMOND SCOTT passed away on September 14, 2008 at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, TX. Burial was at the Heavenly Grace Memorial Park in La Feria, TX. Roy was born Dec 3, 1938 in Hackett, AR to Jessie and Leelen Scott. He was in the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. Roy worked at Lucent Technologies (AT&T) for 30 years in Mesquite, TX and retired in 2001. He was husband to Sherry Scott and father to one son Jimmy Allen Scott and step-father to Jeffrey Bruton. Roy also believed in being a good citizen & voting Christian values. He was a Precinct Chairman and an Election Judge. Roy was a man of virtue and honesty in all things. He cared about other people. Roy was adventurous in doing things such as his big sailboat and in recent years his flying "powered parachute" called "Gizmo". He loved going camping in his motorhome. Roy in recent days enjoyed his two cats. But, mostly his cat named "Tammy" who would spend hours sitting in his lap and sometimes spend nights sleeping next to him in the bed. The last night he was at home in bed Tammy walked up to him and placed her foot on his chest as to say "are you alright" then layed down next to him. Roy was a faithful Christian husband and good provider. He will be missed by his wife Sherry and family and friends and two cats. NOTE: His wife, Sherry, passed away on June 14, 2018. She was born on Feb. 25, 1947. Burial was in Heavenly Grace Memorial Park at La Feria, TX.
