JIMMIE J. BURCHETT was born Aug. 27, 1930 to the humble and
godly parentage of Joseph Allen and Retha Louise Dennington
Burchett in Greenville, TX and died Nov. 3, 2009. One of
12 children, survived by 2 sisters, Betty Kennedy and husband,
Clarence of Rockwall, TX and Bonnie Ligon of Forney, TX. He
was predeceased by 6 brothers and 3 sisters. Jimmie married
Gayle Shields in February of 1955 in Greenville, TX. She
survives after 54 wonderful years. Other survivors include
sons and daughters-in-law: Jamey Chris Burchett and wife
Jana of Forney, TX; Jeffrey Dean Burchett and wife Deborah
of N. Little Rock, AR; Joel Jay Burchett of Mesquite. Four
grandchildren: Jodi Burchett, Athens, TX; Jake Burchett,
Carrollton, TX; Joseph and Marla Burchett, and their mother
Margaret, Forney, TX. He leaves a huge number of nieces and
nephews and a host of dear friends.
Jimmie served in the U.S. Army from 1947-1950. He was a member
of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church, and a member of Mesquite
Lodge 928, Scottish Rite, and Hella Shrine Temple. He was
retired from Ford Motor Company and Lucent Technologies and
was a resident of Mesquite since 1956. Interment was at
Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, TX.
