NORMAN WATTS MEADOR, loving husband, father, grandfather
and great-grandfather went home July 7, 2012.
Norman was born in Breckenridge, Texas, Sept. 16,1925
to R.V. & Eglantine Meador. Norman served his country
during World War II in the Merchant Marines from 1944-
1946, and in the U.S. Army from 1949-1951. In 1957 Norman
graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering
from The University of Arkansas. After graduation he worked
27 years for Western Electric in Winston Salem, North
Carolina, Omaha, Nebraska and Dallas, TX. Norman called
Lake Highlands United Methodist Church his home church. He
and his family have been active members for many years
Norman was dedicated to Boy Scouts of America. He committed
much of his time and energy to supporting and encouraging
boys interested in scouting. Norman was involved in different
troops wherever he was. In 1969 when his family moved to
Dallas he became involved in BS Troop 890. For 43 years he
was on camp outs, Eagle Boards, at meetings, and wherever he
was needed. This year Norman was honored by the construction
of a Pavilion at Camp Constantin in his name.
Norman was preceded in death by: his parents R.V. & Eglantine
Meador; his brothers, LeRoy and William T. Meador; and his
first wife of 35 years Elizabeth B. Meador.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Jean Meador; his son,
Scott Meador; stepchildren, James Moon, Jeanette Bouse,
Jeannine Shutt and Thomas Moon. He is also survived by 8
grandchildren: Chandra Mosley, Jamie Athanasion, Jimmy Moon,
Catie Moon, Austin Bouse, Michael Shutt, Allyson Shutt,
Lianna Meador; and four great-grandchildren, Brandy, Maggie,
Alayna and James.
