Merkle Draughn MERKLE DRAUGHN SR. was born July 26, 1948 in Lake Charles, LA and raised in Mansfield, LA, went home to meet the Lord on October 9, 2013 in Dallas, TX at the age of 65. Merkle faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army and bravely fought in the Viet Nam Conflict. He retired in 2001 from AT&T/Lucent Technologies after 23 years of service. Merkle was an avid New Orleans Saints fan and was a member of the Lone Star Van Club where he served as Sergeant of Arms. He was also known as a Jokester & always had a beautiful smile on his face while he gave everybody a hard time. Interment was at DFW National Cemetery. Preceded in death by his parents Alex & Rosebud Draughn and brother Willie Williams. At the time of his death, he was survived by wife of 17 years Glenda Draughn, son Merkle Draughn Jr., son Ragenal Draughn, daughter LaToya Draughn, daughter Katrina Verduzco and husband Adrian and daughter Kendra Wallace and husband Chase, 11 grand- children, sisters Gloria King &d husband Robert, Doris Williams and Gail Williams, step-brother Bennie Draughn and numerous other family members and friends.
