PEGGY L. OBERKROM passed away suddenly at her home on
March 9, 2014. Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grand-
mother and great-grandmother.
Peggy was born July 14, 1934, in Mokane, MO. She married
Glenn Oberkrom in July of 1954. Glenn was in the Army and
they moved several times before settling down in Dallas,
TX. While her husband was stationed in Korea, Peggy would
help pack up the “higher ranks” homes in the Army when they
would be relocating. After moving to Dallas, Peggy worked
at Western Electric and then AT&T. She retired after twenty
years of service. Glenn and Peggy moved to Edgewood in 1991.
Peggy was a member of First Baptist Church in Edgewood for
twenty four years. She loved her many friends and several
times a week she played cards and bingo at the church and
Senior Citizens Center. Peggy enjoyed working in the flower
beds and planting many flowers, helping her daughter work
outside in the yard and helping others anyway she could.
She was most happy when she was with and doing things with
her family and spoiling her granddaughters.
Grandma will be dearly missed by her daughter, son-in-law,
granddaughters and her two great-grandsons. She leaves an
enormous void in our hearts and will be dearly missed. We
love you.
Peggy is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn, parents,
Clarence Scott and Ruth Scott Hile, brothers, Alvy King
Scott, Johnny B. Scott and Clarence Scott.
She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Wilson and husband,
Dale of Edgewood; granddaughters, Amber Womack and husband,
Chris of Boulder, CO and Kristi Wilson; great-grandsons,
Easton and Calloway of Dalton, GA; sisters, Mae Edwards of
Fulton, MO, Ruth M McGinnis of Seymour, IA & Shirley Riegel
and husband, Art of Chamois, MO.
