DAVID WILSON McKENZIE, 70, of Travelers Rest, SC,
formerly of Alba, passed away Nov. 12, 2017, in
Simpsonville, SC, with burial in Pleasant Ridge
Cemetery at Alba.
He was born April 19, 1947, in Mineola, to the
late Joseph W. & Francis Ellen Grumbles McKenzie.
He graduated from Alba-Golden High School in 1965
and received his BBA and Master’s Degrees from East
Texas State University. He married Teresa Carol
Graf in Nov. of 1970, in Vernon. David had lived
in South Carolina for the last 5 years. He was a
Christian, avid golfer, and a member of North
Fulton Chamber of Commerce. He worked 35 years
for AT&T as a District Manager of Finance & was
a member of the AT&T Pioneers Club, a charitable
organization working with United Way.
He is survived by his wife of 47 yrs., Teresa McKenzie
of Travelers Rest, SC; son, Chris McKenzie of Dacula,
GA; daughter, Amy Emery of Greenville, SC; brother,
Darrell and wife Jean McKenzie of Ben Wheeler; sister,
Jo Ellen and husband Frank West of Alba; three grand-
children, Ella Emery, Lili Emery, and Hayden McKenzie;
and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents.
