BILLY JOE MINCE, 82, passed away July 11, 2020 at his
home in Wills Point, TX.
He was born in Dallas, TX on Oct. 22, 1937 to the late
Frank & Wanda Mince. He was a resident of Wills Point
most of his life. He graduated from Wills Point High
School in the Class of 1957 and was proud of his
accomplishments on the football field. He attended
North Texas State College and was a member of Theta
Chi Fraternity. He married Judy Hill in Oct. of 1960,
and they would have celebrated their 60th wedding
anniversary this October.
He enjoyed playing golf, going to the cow sale, visiting
with his friends at Fairway Shoe Store, Dairy Queen, and
The Lumberyard. He also enjoyed snow skiing, traveling,
reading, hunting, fishing, cooking, dancing and spending
time with his family.
He worked as a Richardson Firefighter, Garland Police
Officer, for Western Electric, in various sales positions,
and as a real estate investor. Bill served in the U.S.
Naval Reserves.
He was a former member of the Wills Point School Board,
served as a deacon and elder at the Wills Point Church
of Christ, was a founding member of Mill Creek Fellowship,
and served on the board of the White Rose Cemetery
Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley
Mince Rogers, his teacher and second mother Carmen Majors,
and granddaughter Hannah Grace Moore.
He is survived by wife Judy Mince, daughter Robin Moore
and husband Paul of Arlington, TX; son Jay Mince & wife,
Liz of Wills Point Texas; grandsons Fraser Mince, Samuel
Moore and wife Heather; William Mince and wife Erika;
Darrell Moore and wife Erin, & Brick Moore; great-grand-
children Ruby and Billy Moore; niece Cindy Boase and
husband Rick; foreign exchange student and dear friend,
Andreas Rummele, and close friends Karl Bieler & Stoney
Burke.
