HERMA LEE WALLS WILSON was born on March 26, 1936,
in Elysian Fields, TX. She transitioned to eternity
with her Lord on July 27, 2020, in Wylie, TX, with
burial in Lincoln Memorial Park at Dallas, TX.
Herma attended Elysian Field High School and graduated
as salutatorian from Booker T. Washington High School
in 1954. She went on to attend Madam C.J. Walker
Cosmetology College. After college, she enjoyed a
longtime career in cosmetology and manufacturing. Her
places of employment included Texas Instruments and
Lucent Technologies, which later became AT&T.
Among many hobbies, She delighted in sports - especially
basketball, baseball, and football. She truly enjoyed
supporting her grandchildren's sporting events. Herma
was a faithful member of Mount Hebron Baptist Church
in Garland where she served as an usher.
Affectionately regarded as "Grandmother", "Mama Tiny",
"Mama Wilson", and "Tiny" to most, Herma will be fondly
remembered for her generous, steadfast, kind-hearted,
and motherly nature. Her strong will and loyal spirit
will forever be admired by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jimmie and
Sammie Stafford Walls; brother, McCurey Walls; and
granddaughter, Shanese Jamerson. Those left to cherish
precious memories include her daughters, Felecia Wilson
Jamerson and Varita Wilson Newton; grandchildren: Sharva
Wilson, Sheniqua Newton Allen (Derrick), Shevonda Newton
Erskin (Michael), Shalecia Jamerson, Shatoya Newton, &
Shanae Jamerson; great-grandchildren: J'Qualyn Newton,
Journey Allen, Jourdyn Allen, JaKari Newton, Jonah Moore,
and Jai'Lise Moore; siblings: Dorothy Douglas, Helen
"Juanita" Pace (William), Walter "Avon" Walls, Thomas
Charles "TC" Walls (Gertrude), Edna "Ed" Ball (JC),
Frances Walls, and Ruby Walls Jackson (Willie); and
a host of other relatives and friends.
