CHARLES EDWARD GLASS, 80, of Hillsboro, TX passed away
on Aug. 18, 2020, at his residence, with burial there at
Hillcrest Garden of Memory.
Charles was born on Nov. 14, 1939, in Cooperton, OK to
Lawrence & Thelma (Emmons) Glass. He grew up in Mountain
View, OK and graduated from Sudan High School in Oklahoma.
Charles began his career with Western Electric in Oklahoma
City. He then transferred to Mesquite, TX in 1972, to
continue to work for Western Electric, which later became
AT&T, retiring as a supervisor in 1990. In June of 1977,
he was united in marriage to Charlene Adams in Rockwall,
TX. Charles enjoyed raising and taking care of his Black
Angus Cattle.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Charles is survived by his wife, Charlene Glass of Hillsboro;
children, Bruce Glass and wife, Rachel of Hillsboro, Richard
Glass of Plano, Alan Glass & wife, Cheryl of Rowlett; stepson,
Randy Overton and wife, Carolyn of Waxahachie; stepdaughter,
Yolando Overton of Hillsboro; brother, Joe Glass and wife,
Janice of Mountain View, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Clayton
Glass and wife, Shelby of Hillsboro, Lacy Stevens & husband,
Chase of Itasca, Baylee Glass of Hillsboro, Brylee Glass of
Hillsboro, Allee Pence and husband, Randy of Rockwall; 9 great-
grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren, Brandy Doyle and husband,
Troy of Grandview, Derek Overton of Waxahachie; 6 step great-
grandchildren and 1 step-great-great-granddaughter.
