JAMES THOMAS DOERING, 74, of Guadalupita, NM, passed
on Dec. 5, 2020, with interment at Greenhill Cemetery
in Muskogee, OK.
He was born May 23, 1946 in Muskogee, OK to James &
Edna Doering. where he grew up and graduated from
Muskogee High School with the class of 1964. He
furthered his education at Oklahoma State Tech
where he graduated in 1966 with an associate’s
degree in Electronics Technology.
James moved to Texas where he began a career with
AT&T/Lucent and retired after 30 years of service.
After retirement, he moved to New Mexico. There he
became involved and made Captain of Sierra Bonita-
Rincon (SBR) Volunteer Fire Department and was
instrumental in building their new fire station.
James will always be remembered as a man of many
trades, mostly self taught. If he didn’t know how
to do something, he would talk with some who did
and then do it himself. He was always busy on some
project and even built his own home. He hardly ever
sat down except to watch a good movie or the Dallas
Cowboys. He always loved the outdoors and fell in
love with New Mexico. James will be greatly missed.
