Ray Mitchell RAYMOND "RAY" MITCHELL, 86, of Canal Winchester, OH and Indian Shores, FL; unexpectedly & quickly passed away at home in Indian Shores on Apr 21, 2021. Ray was born Mar 30, 1935 in Englewood, OH, and graduated from Randolph High School in 1953. He went to Kenyon University on a football scholarship, then served in the U.S. Army for 4+ years, before obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Management from Ohio State University in 1964. He later received his MBA from the University of Dayton. Ray started his career at Western Electric Group/AT&T in 1964 in accounting, then held numerous management positions, and spent the last 8 years in manufacturing information systems. He then joined Nationwide/GatesMcdonald Insurance Company as a Systems Developer for 16 years, and retired in 2008. Surviving Ray is his wife of 58 years, Connie Mitchell of Canal Winchester, and their 2 daughters Jennifer Outzs and Christy Mitchell. Socially, Ray was a member of the Canal Winchester Lions Club, ran the clock for CW High School Football games for 30+ years; and was an avid reader, boater, golfer (Senior Champion, Largo Gulf Course), and exercise enthusiast. Ray was a truly devoted husband, dedicated and proud father, a thoughtful and kind person, and a dear friend to many.
