Paul Wilson PAUL WILSON was the first son born in Columbus, OH on Jan. 1, 1937, to parents Paul Grant Wilson and Dorothy Freda Billingsley who preceded him in death as well as sister Karen Sue Rister, grand- children Felix Wilson and Crystal Dixon. Paul leaves behind his wife Patricia Jean Wilson, sons Paul Joseph Wilson, James David Wilson & Wife Mary E Wilson, Jeffrey Alan Wilson, brothers James Russell Wilson, David Lee Wilson, sisters Mary Frances Wilson, Wanda Jean (Judy) and Spouse Lou Pappas, Barbara and Spouse Jim Davis and Son-in-Law Trey Lundt, grandchildren and spouses (Regina & Joey, Jenny & Colt, Nickie & Scooter, Amanda & Wayne, Jordan & Eddie, Samantha, TJ, Clint, Chase, - Jack, Emma) and great-grandchildren (Hannah & Haley, Kaitlyn & Taylor, Liam, Triniti & Jonathon, Gavin & Sienna, Brookelyn & Kingston, Jaxson & Mason & Cheyene. Paul also delighted in the friendships and love of the extended families of the Hasdorffs, Wilseys, Slates, Kerricks, Lundts, and Strebs. Paul graduated from North HS in Columbus, OH in 1955 and entered the USAF where he served as an Electronics Technician on Fighter-Interceptor Jet Planes F86, Fl02, & T33 Trainers until his Honorable discharge in 1958. His stations included Sampson AFB at Lake Geneva NY, Sheppard AFB in Wichita Falls TX, Andrews AFB in MD, Yuma AFB in AZ, Amarillo AFB in Amarillo TX, and finally Seymour Johnson AFB Goldsboro, NC where he was discharged. His civilian jobs included Hoover (salesman), Timken Roller Bearing (machine operator and machine mechanic) while working on his Electronic Technology Associate Degree at Ohio Technical Institute. He went to North American Aviation working as an electronic technician on RF AC 105 and F3 Navy Jet Planes while he continued his education and was recruited by Western Electric in 1965 for an Engineering Associate Position. He entered The Ohio State University to pursue Electrical Engineering in 1966 and graduated in 1970 with Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honors and Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honors in the top 10% of the Engineering Students. During his academic years, he was promoted to Planning Engineer at Western Electric. Early in 1971, Paul transferred to Mesquite, TX with Western Electric as an Electrical Product Test Design Engineer developing optimum strategies for testing and validation of various products of manufacture. He began working on his Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering at The Ohio State University as part of the Western Electric Summer on Campus Program and graduated in 1977 with an MSEE degree. He continued with many new assignments and new products in Electronic Switching Systems for AT&T and later assignments to support Lucent Technologies products and their resultant components and suppliers. During this time, Paul was promoted to Senior Electrical Engineer in 1976 and then Senior Staff Engineer in 1986. Paul also counseled area high school programs and their curriculums. Paul officially retired in 1996 and enjoyed his own independent consulting work until 2002. Paul enjoyed and participated in many sports such as basketball, softball, skiing, tennis, windsurfing, and bowling and sometimes suffered the injuries that came with being active. His major love was The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Teams where he cheered their wins and cried over their near misses. Paul attended church at Good Sheppard Lutheran Church in Dallas and served as Vice President of the church council for a few years and then attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in Mesquite after relocating. Eventually, his attendance diminished but he had and continues an abundant Love for Our God and Savior Jesus Christ. Paul married Patricia J Hasdorff (Roberts) in 1980 and they spent many happy times traveling and exploring beautiful lands and cultures while appreciating the beautiful and friendly people everywhere. As they aged, cruising became the favorite travel mode inspired by their Honeymoon Cruise in 1980. He especially loved New Zealand, Australia, and Europe. Funeral services will be held 10:00am Monday, June 21, 2021, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. A gathering of family and friends will take place Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Please send any contributions to St Jude Children's Research Hospital and/or World Vision.
