JAMES ELDRIDGE LAWRENCE, 80, died on Oct. 3,
2014. He was born on Sept. 7, 1934. He was assigned
to TRANS USAR XXI US ARMY CORPS until Nov. of 1963.
After his military career, James moved to Newark, NJ
where he worked for Western Electric & was especially
proud to be a member of The National Negro Baseball
League’s Newark Eagles. In 1963, he married Anne-Marie
Delatouriere and three daughters were born out of
their union. As a valued employee of Western Electric,
James and his family transferred to Mesquite, TX in
1983. He retired in 1995 from AT&T.
