HERBERT WILLET SALMONS was born in Peoria, IL
on May 1, 1941 to parents Fred & Albertine Salmons.
He went home to meet his Lord and Saviour on July 11,
2023 in Mesquite, TX at the age of 82. He worked at
the Mesquite plant as a Layout in the Stock Shop.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents and his two
brothers, Ralph L. & Earl N. Salmons.
He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of 36
years, Rita L. Salmons; five loving stepsons, Jimmy,
Jerry, Johnny, Stephen and Timothy Craig; 12 grand-
children & 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Marion
Balceszak, her son Stephen and grandson Joshua Holley,
as well as multiple nieces and nephews & their families.
Herb was a life-long member of Our Savior Lutheran
Church in Mesquite, as well as being the last surviving
Charter Member of the Mesquite Elks Lodge #2404. Herb
was a loving and faithful man who always put his family
and his love of the Lord first. He was an honorable man
and everyone whoever met him walked away a better person
for having been around him. He will be deeply missed by
all who knew & loved him, but he will live in our hearts
and minds forever, and the Legacy he leaves behind will
never be forgotten.
