RICHARD ROBERT SILVIUS, a cherished individual
who touched the lives of many, passed away on
March 26, 2024 in Rowlett, TX.
He was born on July 6, 1948, in Aurora, IL, to the
late Robert Wilbur & Bessie Marguerite (Quantock)
Silvius.
Richard was a devoted husband to his loving wife,
Janice Kay Farmer Silvius, for 36 years. He was
a proud father to his daughter, Kelly Black, and
son-in-law David, a doting grandfather to Zachary
Black and Joshua Black, and a caring brother, uncle,
and friend to many. Throughout his life, Richard
found joy in simple pleasures. He was known as the
official neighborhood turkey fryer & enjoyed hobbies
such as bowling, fishing, and softball. An avid
Chicago Cubs fan, Richard took great delight
in following his favorite team's victories.
In his professional life, Richard excelled as a
Production Scheduling Supervisor for AT&T for over
30 years. His dedication & hard work left a lasting
impact on his co-workers. Richard was a member of
the Protestant faith and was a pillar of support
within his community. He was a faithful supporter
of the Salvation Army and found fulfillment in
taking loving care of his cats and dogs, including
strays that he welcomed into his home with open
arms.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife
Jan, his parents Robert and Bessie Silvius, his
brothers Ron Silvius and Ross Silvius, and his
brother-in-law Reza Khazai.
He is survived by his daughter Kelly Black and
husband David, grandchildren Zachary Black and
Joshua Black, sisters Carol Khazai, Kathy Bohnsack
and husband Rich, Marlys Fergus and husband Randy,
and many nieces, nephews, and other loving family
members.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Richard's
life will be held 1:00pm on Saturday, March 30,
2024, at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett with Dr.
Russell Rogers officiating. Visitation will be
prior to the service from 11:00am to 1:00pm.
Richard will be dearly missed but fondly remembered
by all those whose lives he touched with his kindness,
generosity, and unwavering love. May he rest in peace.
